POST GRADUATE 2023
BIODYNAMICS OF THE BLOOD AND HEART
with RYAN HALFORD
26 – 29 OCT
Biodynamic Craniosacral therapy explores the sacred and subtle tidal expression of our healthy being. This 4 day workshop, contextualises the nature of the heart and blood, within its principles.
The heart captures the human mind like no other organ. It is said to be the home of the mind and location of our deepest sense of self. Starting with embryonic origin, the Heart, could be seen as the first organ forming. It becomes a fundamental transport medium and communication network, as it develops a field of mobile potency.
Primary Respiration reveals the heart to be a deep well of stillness and peace.
Blood is continuously used by the nervous, endocrine, immune, and other systems to insure the quest of dynamic equilibrium in the human form. Although it is focal hub for activity in life, blood maintains a field of deep biological neutrality that stabilizes the entire organism.
The heart and blood, when perceived through the lens of the slower rhythms reveal different qualities to those attributed to them by modern models of physiology. We find the heart acts in the service of blood regulating the inherent potency found in the blood field itself.
The workshop will cover these concepts as well as experience of:
-
Palpation of key vessels of the Cardiovascular system
-
Capillaries as gateways to deep neutrality and stillness
-
Primary respiration and the blood ocean
-
ANS and circulation
-
The heart viewed physiologically
-
Spiritual traditions as they perceive the heart dynamic.
Ryan Halford has been actively engaged with the practise and teaching of Craniosacral Therapy since 1998. While having studied and appreciated many styles of cranial work, he has been drawn to the Biodynamic approach because of its capacity to unlock deep resources of healing and reformation.
Ryan runs a practise in Dallas Texas, The Craniosacral Resource Centre, where he treats both adults and children. He served as the host of the Craniosacral podcast from 2015 – 2021 sharing the wisdom of prominent Craniosacral therapists from all over the world. He has taught in many countries and is thrilled to be coming to South Africa to share his experiences.
