Craniosacral therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on therapy that allows the body to express its natural ability to heal. Anatomically, the CranioSacral system comprises the brain and spinal cord, their surrounding fluids and membranes and the associated bones of the cranium and spine.Fundamental to the practice of CST is the concept of the body’s innate intelligence and natural inclination toward a state of balance and well-being. The CranioSacral way of reflective holding creates the felt sense of containment, providing freedom and safety for the client to access and release restrictions. This allows the innate healing priorities to emerge.
The effects of Craniosacral Therapy are fascinating and revealing. Contacting and containing the relationship between fluid and structure provides our systems with the opportunity to reorganise, releasing trauma and embodied stress.
